The Story of the Argonaut Hotel in San Francisco
The Argonaut Hotel was developed in a former cannery warehouse in San Francisco, a Del Monte canning storage facility actually (no, there are no canned peaches left- we've looked). With the refreshed guest rooms and public spaces, the Argonaut Hotel offers the perfect blend of modern and historic, worldly and local. Staying here, you just might feel that you're in the midst of the nautical Argonaut story that inspired us. The new palette perfectly complements the hotel's natural surroundings on the San Francisco Bay. Housed in the historic Haslett Warehouse by Fisherman's Wharf, some of the guestrooms include the original exposed brick walls, large timbers and warehouse steel doors, unveiling pockets of its historic 1907 structure. Pale blue and gray striped carpeting complement the tongue and groove paneled walls much like those you might find in a captain's stately quarters. Oh, and if you look out those big windows, you'll see stunning views of San Francisco landmarks like the Golden Gate Bridge and the San Francisco Bay, Coit Tower and the Transamerica Pyramid- not a bad way to escape the stress of the day to day.
