Yes, fall is one of the best times to visit San Francisco, because September and October are among the city’s warmest, clearest months. October also brings Fleet Week to the Bay. Come before late November, when the rain usually starts. And pack a layer. Down here on the waterfront it runs cooler and breezier than downtown.
October highs in San Francisco run from the upper 60s to about 70°F, and November cools to the low 60s with evenings in the 50s. The first rain of the season usually arrives in late November. Bring a jacket either way. Our corner of the city, by Aquatic Park, is cooler and breezier than downtown.
Fleet Week 2026 runs October 4 to 12, with the Blue Angels air show over San Francisco Bay. The jets fly October 9, 10 and 11, from noon to 4 PM. Fisherman’s Wharf and Aquatic Park, right next door to us, are popular places to watch. Plan your Fleet Week stay.
November in San Francisco opens with Día de los Muertos in the Mission District and ends in full holiday mode. The Great Dickens Christmas Fair opens at the Cow Palace on November 21.
